The real world of video games, however, is quite a bit weirder. One great example of exactly how weird games can be is Poly Bridge. The concept of the game is simple - build a bridge (using a limited amount of tools) to allow a vehicle to cross a gap. There's nothing more to the game, yet it's both insanely popular and has a rabid fan base. There aren't any explosions to be found here, just challenges to one's imagination and problem-solving abilities.Much like the bridges in the game, Poly Bridge does fall apart if you think too much about it.
There's not a lot to do beyond build bridges and solve a few different puzzles. There's a lot of room for improvement, but there's no doubt that this will be a game that will be improved upon in the future. It's very easy to look at this game and see the beginnings of a very odd franchise.If you want to build bridges, this is probably the game for you. If you want to solve puzzles, this is still a great option. Don't expect a stereotypical video game experience and you won't be disappointed. This game goes a long way in showing that games can be far weirder and far more inventive than the average person expects. Too many 22+ point hands passed out, or winning aces discarded in preference of losing jacks in the same suit.

Some don't even bother consistently following suit.So I wrote my own, including the features I value most as a student of the game. I have striven hard to make the AIs follow Standard American bidding, however Bridge is a marvelously complex game and AI fails may be inevitable. I welcome feedback on obvious shortcomings and will endeavor to improve their play as time permits. Of course, their performance will always be limited by my own skill in Bridge, meaning on good days your partner will signal suit preference in its discards; on other deals, not so much, and as for your partner figuring out where the vital missing queen resides based on the bidding and honor cards played in the first six tricks, good luck with that! The cards are too close together, so you're never sure if you're actually picking the one you want to play.
There's no way to undo it if you pick the wrong one on accident. The bidding set-up is difficult to understand.
And once the game starts, they don't remind you what the bid actually is. It's only a couple dollars, but it was a definite waste of money.

This particularly applies to players partner's bidding and responses; no rhyme or reason, misrepresentation of points and suit counts, frequent over bids & under bids, and totally inappropriate responses to player's bids.Didn't expect perfection, and I'm not an expert by any means but wish there was a more rhyme and reason to the bidding process. None the less, it is fun even if often frustrating.
